Around this time last year I had the pleasure of attending an event at the home of the Saltire in Athelstaneford in East Lothian. Restrictions do not allow me to be there today, but I look forward to celebrating the soul of our nation once it is safe to do so.
The Scottish Flag Trust Trust looks after the Saltire Memorial at Athelstaneford Parish Church, and are currently raising funds for a restoration and renewal project that will increase accessibility and interpretation at the site, and confirm it’s status as a jewel in East Lothian’s bustling tourist market, as well as a beacon for Scots from at home and around the world to celebrate our historic national flag of St Andrew.
