Surgeries postponed due to Coronavirus

In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic I have made the regrettable decision to cancel my advice surgeries for the foreseeable future. This is a temporary measure until this situation passes, and rest assured, my office team and I are still on hand to help with your enquiries.  You can read more here.

My dedicated Coronavirus advice and updates page can be found here.

Welcome to my website.  Here you can keep up to date with what I have been doing, watch or read speeches I have made in parliament and find out how to get in touch with me as your elected representative.

I was elected as the MP for East Lothian in the 2019 General Election.  It is a privilege to serve the people of East Lothian who are, as I said in my first speech in Westminster, full of “grit, determination and decency.”

Prior to entering the Westminster parliament I first served a member of the Scottish Parliament, initially for the Lothians Region from 1999 to 2007, for Edinburgh East and Musselburgh from 2007 to 2011, and eventually as MSP for Edinburgh Eastern. I was also appointed as the Cabinet Secretary for Justice within the Scottish Government in 2007 and was re-appointed in May 2011, standing down from that role in 2014.
