Newly Self-Employed Hardship Fund open for applications

This grant scheme, provided by the Scottish Government, is designed to help alleviate financial hardship for newly self-employed people who meet the eligibility criteria.

I would encourage any constituent whose status as being newly self-employed makes them ineligible for the UK Government’s Self-employment Income Support Scheme to apply for this new scheme, which awards a one-off payment of £4,000.

The fund is open for four weeks.  Full details and the application process can be found here: https://findbusinesssupport.gov.scot/service/funding/newly-self-employed-hardship-fund

Please note that as per the Scottish Government’s website, “You cannot resubmit your application if you make an error, and there is no appeals process after the fund closes, so make sure you read this information carefully.”

There is a video offering guidance on the application process which is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHl28Q5HXcU
