Visiting the Glenkinchie Distillery redevelopment

I was delighted to get the chance to visit the new visitor centre at the Glenkinchie Distillery yesterday.

The Glenkinchie is a key part of East Lothian’s food and drink industry, as well as our local and international tourism. I was extremely impressed with the new visitor attraction, and even more so by the commitment of Diageo to build on the work here in East Lothian and establish this historic distillery as a world-class tourist destination. East Lothian is a haven for tourism and we have a great deal to be proud of. This is another feather in the cap of the county.

As the pandemic causes harm to industries across Scotland, and Brexit threatens protections in our food and drinks industry, I was especially glad to see the level of commitment to this local East Lothian venture which will benefit the economy and our reputation as a food and drink destination.

I give my warm congratulations to the team at the Glenkinchie and look forward to visiting again to see the progress made.
